Well, I got a whole series of emails, it's amazing. I don't consider what I do pornography. I realize that some people do. Obviously, cause I have five emails sitting here in front of me of people telling me that I produce and that I shoot porn. I disagree. I completely disagree.
So I looked up pornography; it's something that stimulates. Okay, so does that mean a glass of scotch or a glass of wine or a delicious chocolate sundae is pornography? I don't think so. It does stimulate. So I don't think that's a good definiton.
I know in the business everybody has their shades of gray. And everybody says this is, that's not, this is. This is soft, this is hard, this is in the middle, this is triple X, this is R-rated - all the different things.
So what is porn? I guess it's each individual. The courts say it's whatever the standard of the society that you live in is. It's frustrating.
I actually get insulted when people say that my work is porn. But then I have to realize it's their bias - it's their definition. So I don't think what I do is porn.
What do I call it? That would be the question. I would love to hear what you all would call it. I guess I would call it glamour/pinup or erotic photography.
